Adding to the heat, Maruti launched the new-generation DZire a few months back in the Indian market. And it was no surprise that the all-new DZire got overwhelming response by the buyers. This ensured that Maruti Suzuki is not going to lose its kingship in the sub-4 sedan segment, where rivals like Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent are trying hard to make a difference.
The launch of new 2017 DZire is not a general face-lift update. There are no small tweaks here and there. The new DZire has completely changed as it has become more premium, attractive, appealing and bold. No wonder, it has a long list of fans from all ages.

Maruti Suzuki DZire New Model vs. Old Model
Exteriors:
The all-new 2017 Maruti Suzuki DZire is not a facelift avatar. Rather, it is completely redesigned from front to rear. It exterior design is highly inspired from the international-spec Suzuki Swift 2017, which is expected to launch in India in 2018. Suzuki’s Liquid Metal flow sculpted lines as seen on Maruti Baleno and 2017 Swift can also be seen on the Maruti Suzuki DZire new model. This gives the new 2017 DZire a bolder, wider and better road presence. The boot lid and roof line has also redesigned to give a proportionate look.
The old model DZire had a boxy exterior design, which wasn’t appealing to many of the prospect customers. It looked fat, bulgy and quite outdated. The 2017 DZire is 3,995mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,515mm high, which is 40mm wider and 40mm shorter than the old model. Based on the new ‘HEARTEC’ platform, the new DZire is lighter, bigger on boot and better in fuel efficiency too.
The 2017 DZire new model has ‘Impact Design grille’ with thick chrome bezel on the front, which matches the exterior aesthetics. There is an all-new LED headlamps, LED DRLs, chrome highlighted bumper on the front which adds to the premiumness of this sedan. The redesigned rear has a new LED light guides, new LED tail-lamps and chrome highlights on boot lid. Overall, the exterior design, looks and aesthetics of new 2017 DZire is two generation ahead of the old model.
Interiors:
Maruti Suzuki has ensured that the all-new 2017 DZire doesn’t misses on the premium features anywhere. For which, the interiors has been designed with upgrading the plastic quality and overall fit and finish. The old model DZire scored low when it came to the quality of plastics, control switches, AC vents, knobs and other areas. However, you won’t have such complains on the new DZire.
The Maruti Suzuki DZire new model has an updated interior design that looks more clean and premium than the old model. The control buttons for the HVAC vents, automatic climate control, instrument binnacles and chrome rings for instrument dials have a new polygon-themed design for a premium look.
Talking about the comfort, the 2017 DZire has a more spacious cabin than the previous model. The led room, knee room and shoulder room has improved a lot, and thanks to the improved quality of cushioning on seats, long journeys on new DZire won’t be tiring.
Safety, Comfort and Entertainment Features:
The 2017 Maruti DZire is added with various comfort and latest safety features. Dual airbags, ISOFIX child seta anchors, ABS with EBD & brake assist come as standard safety features across all variants. Other comfort & convenience features include automatic climate control, engine push start/stop button with smart key, power-operated & foldable ORVMs, reverse parking sensors & camera, driver side auto up/down power window and a lot more latest additions which were missed on the old DZire.
For your entertainment, the new 2017 DZire gets an all-new 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system that Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity, which again was not present on the old Swift DZire. Added with lots of latest features, the Maruti Suzuki DZire new model becomes a sweeter deal.
Engine and Gearbox:
Maruti Suzuki is in no mood to ditch the tested and proven engines that powered the old model DZire. The Maruti DZire new model gets the same engines that power the old Maruti Swift DZire. The new DZire continues to use the tried and tested 1.2litre K-series Petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. The 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine churns 83.14bhp of power at 6000rpm and 115NM of torque. While the 1.3-litre diesel engine churns 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque at 2000rpm.
Both of these engines are coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Also on sale is a 5-speed automatic gearbox (optional) on the petrol variant, which replaced the old 4-speed automatic variant.
Mileage:
Thanks to the new ‘HEARTEC’ platform, the new 2017 DZire has turned lighter by 85kg for petrol and 105kg for the diesel variant. This ensured better fuel mileage for the new 2017 DZire at least on the papers.

Price:
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki DZire is priced between Rs.5.45 lacs to Rs.9.41 lacs (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi). While the old model Swift DZire was available between Rs.5.35 lacs to 8.58 lacs (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi). It must be noted that the old DZire was available in 4 variants only, whereas, the new 2017 DZire is available in 7 variants.
